I believe that gratitude is a great state of mind and heart that can bring you to an awareness and eventually pure happiness. Even during the hardest times, it’s so easy to bring back this great feeling of understanding that your life is actually full of blessing – just by entering this state of gratitude.
Filling out my Attitudes of Gratitude guided journal is a great way to express gratitude for various events and things in my life, and also to keep my gratitude lists. And every time I need to come into a state of attitude of gratitude, I can easily do it with the journal, which I believe is an amazing idea: it’s kind of a work book. Of course, you don’t have to buy a fancy journal to be able to make a list of things you are grateful for in life.
Just make one list for everything you are and may be grateful for at all times- and keep it handy. Every time you feel down, take out the list and remind yourself how great your life actually is.
Here’s another great exercise – to write down every day certain things you were grateful for during the day. I think it’s even more powerful. First of all, it sets a mood to be grateful every day. It’s an amazing way to exit difficult times: I guarantee, after a few days of setting your mind up to finding greatness in your life rather than observing what puts you down, you will feel much happier and aware! Everything about NOW is much more powerful than anything else. Doing this every day, you will constantly keep up an amazing feeling state of gratitude brings in your life.
Here are few tips on making gratitude lists:
- Best things that happened with you today – daily list
- Best things you are grateful for in your life
- Best things you are grateful for that people have done for you
- Best people you have met in your life
- Best dreams of yours that came true (if list is shorter than 5, create another list: 10 great dreams that I intend to make come true!)
- Best books you are grateful you have read
- Best places you are grateful you have visited
- Best things that have been currently happening in your life you are grateful for
So – make a list. And be grateful!
