Don’t be afraid. Lies are not the reason for all human troubles. Lies are a result of a sickness, of fear. Fear of being rejected by people, by society, fear of loss. Human life is often all about consumption. We accumulate material possessions and use them to wrap ourselves as if in a cotton-ball blanket. This blanket separates us from real, true living. This accumulated matter distracts us and prevents us from feeling the world, from experiencing life, which is our only purpose—to feel life. We use material things to avoid the constant call to soul-search. And the beginning of this path is scary at times. Isn’t it easier to remain ignorant rather than become a spiritually developed individual?
Don’t torture people with the necessity to like you. It’s impossible and unwise to expect that from everyone. It’s also unwise to make important people like you because it’s not natural, therefore not sincere, and ultimately, a lie. Staying in lies will eventually break the seeming harmony between you and important people.
Don’t consciously build walls between yourself and others. The walls appear by themselves when you act carelessly. It may happen that while you are busy building walls, others will appear elsewhere, and soon, the whole world will be behind a wall.
So, what should you do? How close should you let other people come? How do you determine who may be allowed to be close? Perhaps, there is no need to try to let or not let other people come close. When someone approaches you, you can always see if they come in peace. And just as you respect your own territory, you need to respect others’ territories.
Outside noise will interfere with your inner silence. But only in inner silence can you hear the voice of truth.
Only in inner silence does the world open up before you, and you stop running from yourself. You come into contact with your inner sacred self, and then you don’t need to run anymore.
